The following are the 2 x most common ways the Carbon Supra Exhaust Shield can be mounted, there are pros and cons to each.
Please Note: We always recommend professional body shop installation.
Double Sided Tape Install - Use 3M VHB Tape Black colour
- Test fit the exhaust shield on the bumper first, note the position for best fitment.
- Clean both surfaces with prepsol.
- Apply the 3M tape to the back of the exhaust shield first, ensuring good coverage around the edges, press firmly for 30 seconds.
- For best results heat the tape now with a hairdryer or heat gun (don't overheat).
- Remove the backing strip and stick onto the correct place on the bumper, press and hold for 30 seconds all over.
Silicone - Use Black Sikaflex 227
- Test fit the exhaust shield on the bumper first, note the position for best fitment.
- Clean both surfaces with prepsol.
- Apply an even bead of black silicone around the edge of the exhaust shield.
- Carefully move into the correct position on the bumper, once in place use good masking tape to secure and leave overnight to set.
- Remove any excess silicone with prepsol before it dries.
